The Multiple Heritage Project (MHP) was launched in 2006. It was later to be renamed ‘Mix-d:’ in 2009. Their reason for being was to create a platform for children and young people who choose to self identify as mixed-race and develop resources for people who wish to be enlightened on the subject.
In addition to leading seminars across the country and developing personalised training for multi-agency professionals, Mix-d: has gone on to use a range of different media to communication messages related to mixed-race identity in a number of non-traditional sectors. Their job is to compliment existing thought leadership and locate the voice of mixed-race people at the centre of current debates.
